    Traveling with Katie is a profoundly nourishing adventure for your soul; a pathway back to your authentic self. She is deeply connected to the spirit realm, Mother Gaia, and all the elements of the natural world. These connections serve as her personal GPS. Many is the time we would be driving or hiking and suddenly, there we are at the absolute perfect spot for a restorative meditation or sacred ceremony or nourishing picnic on a huge flat rock in the middle of a mountain stream or invigorating swimming at the foot of a glorious waterfall. There is no shortage of deer, turtles, fish, birds, butterflies, or colorful moths you might encounter in the fairy world your find yourself in when forest bathing with Katie.

What's Not Included in Our Costa Rica Retreat

Airfare

Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from San Jose, Costa Rica. We recommend booking your flights well in advance to secure the best rates and ensure a smooth journey.

Massage Appts.

While our retreat offers a variety of wellness activities, individual massage appointments are not included. These can be booked separately and paid via cash to enhance your relaxation and rejuvenation during the retreat. $85-$100 estimated cost for 60-90 min. session

Meals in San Jose

Dinner and breakfast at the beautiful Hacienda Belen hotel on day one is a delightful experience, but it is not part of the retreat package. You are welcome to dine at your own expense. All other meals will be covered beginning with dinner at Tierra de Suenos on May 25th, 2025.

Tips

Gratuities for staff and service providers are not included in the retreat package. We encourage you to tip according to your satisfaction with the service provided during your stay.

  • The Costa Rica Retreat is a spiritual and wellness retreat organized by Zen Within Academy, taking place from May 24th to June 1st, 2024, at Tierra de Sueños Lodge in Playa Chiquita, Costa Rica. The retreat aims to provide a transformative experience through various spiritual practices.

  • The retreat is held at Tierra de Sueños Lodge & Wellness Center, located in Playa Chiquita, 6 kilometers from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.

  • Participants will stay in one of the seven Caribbean-style bungalows nestled in tropical gardens. Each bungalow features unique artistic details like hand-carved wood, tile mosaics, and painted murals. A few single rooms are available, otherwise you will share a room with another participant.

  • The retreat offers a variety of activities, including:

    - Guided meditation sessions

    - Yoga classes

    - Sound healing

    - Ecstatic Dance

    - Nature excursions and hikes

    - Group discussions and sharing circles

  • Yes, the retreat includes delicious, fresh vegetarian meals prepared by local chefs using locally sourced ingredients, mostly from organic suppliers. The meals are designed to nourish both the body and soul. You can upgrade to some animal protein included for an additional cost.

  • Tierra de Sueños Lodge offers a serene and lush jungle environment, situated between pristine beaches and spectacular rainforest. The setting is designed to help participants unwind, de-stress, and connect with nature. There will be no A/C

  • In May and early June, Playa Chiquita enjoys warm and tropical weather. During the day, temperatures typically range from 74°F to 87°F, making it ideal for beach activities and exploring the natural beauty of the area. At night, the temperature usually cools down to around 70°F, providing a comfortable and refreshing atmosphere for a good night's rest. The weather during this period is consistent, with temperatures rarely falling below 70°F or rising above 91°F, making it a great time to visit and experience the charm of Playa Chiquita.
